Rushが演奏するカヴァーってどちらかというと珍しい部類だよね？
プログレ的な側面が強調されるRushがチョイスした楽曲は、やっぱりこうなる。
年齢的なものもあるだろうしね。
思い切ってLed Zeppelinを選んでも良かったと思うんだけど、やっぱりやらなかった。
それでも随分と直球な選曲。そして、偏り方が凄い。
Rushってアルバム・デビューが74年で。例えばプログレ第1世代をカヴァーするにはちょっと近い過ぎる、って感じだろうか？


The Whoのカヴァーが個人的には耳に残っているEddie Cochranの"Summertime Blues"から始まる本作。
Buffalo SpringfieldはStephen StillsとNeil Youngの両名の曲を取り上げているところが律儀というか、何と言うか…。Neil Youngは同郷だしね。
そして、The Whoの"The Seeker"。
Yardbirds、そしてJeff Beckも演った"Shapes of Things"。まぁ、ハードロック系だと断然Jeff Beckヴァージョン、ってなってしまう。
Creamが取り上げたRobert Johnsonの"Crossroads"。
ブルージーな選曲が多い。
ファンはこれを聴いてどう思うのだろう？？？
ちょっと興味津々。


そういえば、"Heart Full of Soul"はTroubleもカヴァーしていたね。Troubleも結構カヴァー曲多かったね。
