"Holiday"と"Animal Life and Water Life"、"Feels like Summertime"はIt Bites時代の未発表曲みたいですね。"Feels like Summertime"は後にFrancis Dunneryの1stソロでもやっていましたね。
基本的に最近のFrancis Dunneryの作風が受け入れられる人には大丈夫。It Bitesの曲をやっているからと言って、It Bitesは期待してはいけない。全曲、スローで生々しいバージョンに生まれ変わっている。It Bitesのような装飾は殆ど削ぎ落とされている。
ある意味ヴォーカリストとしては当然の帰結というか。。。どれだけ言葉にフィーリングを込めるか、それがどうサウンドに融合させるか、という。
近年のFrancis Dunneryの作風を聞いても判るように、ある意味その答えはもう出している感は受ける。
Tom BrislinやEcholynの面々は極力どれだけ音を出さないか、というのが肝。。。
というのもセンスが問われるところ。Tom Brislinの品の良いピアノはよく鳴っている。
Disc2はDisc1に比べて曲のスピードが上がっている感を受ける。
"Sister Sarah"や"Let Us All Go"では疾走感が出ている（Disc1があのスピードだからね、余計にそう感じるかも）。
Dorie Jacksonは2ndヴォーカリストだね。コーラスだけでなく、随所で声を出して曲の演出をしている。
最初にトラックリストを見た時は全く気がつかなかったけど、Francis Dunneryも参加していたRobert Plantの名作"Fate of Nations"から"Calling to You"が出て来た時は思わず泣けた（でも、この曲には参加していなかったよね？）。。。
"Glad and Sorry"！何という選曲だろうか。学生時代よく聞いたなぁ。
メンバーは先述したように、SpiralingのTom Brislin、Jamie Bishop、EcholynのPaul RamseyとBrett Kull、元Van Der Graaf GeneratorのDavid Jacksonの娘Dorie Jacksonがメインとなっている。その他に、こちらも先述したMotorheadのPhil Campbellが"Holiday"に参加。Fire GardenのLuke Machinは"Let Us All Go"に参加。Theo Travisは"Still Life in Mobile Homes"でフルートで参加。現It BitesのJohn Mitchellが"Love will Tear Us Apart"で参加。"Kiss like Judas"のSimon RogersはAlso Edenのメンバー。
"Feels like Summertime"に参加しているメンバーは、Jethro Tullなどのアルバムでも活躍していたPeter John Vittesse、Flamman、Tony Beard、元Level42のギタリストであったNathan Kingが参加。
あ、最後に装丁は日本人好みじゃない。私はこういうのは気にしないタイプだけど。
